Joel Pearson joins reigning champions Elite Motorsport for the 2019 Ginetta Junior championship.
Pearson made his car racng debut in the second half of last season. He competed as a privateer at Rockingham, Silverstone, and Brands Hatch, taking a best finish of 12th three times.
After gathering more experience in the Winter Series, Pearson aims to challenge for the Rookie Class title in his first full season in the championship.
“I am looking forward to the 2019 Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship and building on the pace I had in the Winter Series, qualifying as the fastest rookie,” he said.
“Elite Motorsport have a history of developing winning drivers and I know that we are going to be a competitive package this year.”
Pearson has already begun testing with the team for the upcoming season.
Elite was a dominant force in the 2018 championship, running both the overall champion, Adam Smalley, and the top rookie, Louis Foster, who finished second overall.
Pearson is the third drivers to be confirmed for the team’s 2019 line-up, alongside Tom Emson and James Hedley.
“I am pleased to announce Joel as one of our rookie contenders for 2019,” said team boss Eddie Ives.
“We have had a fantastic winter testing programme and it’s great to see Joel’s progress. His aim is to win the Rookie title for 2019 and we will be working hard to make this a reality.”
