Hedley top of the order at Croft

James Hedley topped the times at Croft to claim his third consecutive Ginetta Junior pole position.

The championship leader waited until the second half of qualifying to jump to the top of the order, knocking early pace setter Casper Stevenson down to second. Hedley continued to find improvements in the final 10 minutes of the session and ended qualifying with a 1m40.099s lap.

After a mixed weekend at Thruxton, Will Martin starts the weekend on the right foot. He put himself second not long after Hedley moved up to P1, but couldn’t match the Elite Motorsport driver’s improvements. He managed to set the fastest first sector and a personal best in sector two on the same lap, but a poor third sector meant he didn’t improve.

Martin lines up second for this afternoon’s race, ahead of Stevenson and Roman Bilinski.

James Taylor was running second early in the session but fell down the order as others found improvements. He ended the session fifth, ahead of Ethan Hawkey and Zak O’Sullivan.

After a strong free practice in which he finished second overall, Theo Edgerton could only manage eighth in qualifying.

Joel Pearson and Gus Burton rounded out the top 10.
