Will Martin tops Snetterton qualifying

Will Martin kickstarted the second half of the 2019 Ginetta Junior championship with pole position for the opening race at Snetterton.

Martin had two of his quickest lap times deleted over the course of the session, but managed to keep his Richardson Racing run Ginetta between the white lines to set a 2m20.547s lap around the Norfolk circuit.

Zak O’Sullivan took second quickest in the overall time, but topped the second-quickest lap times to claim his first pole position of the championship for the third race of the weekend.

Casper Stevenson took third ahead of championship leader James Hedley, who was one of only five drivers not to have a lap time removed for exceeding track limits.

Josh Rattican finished the session fifth overall, but will start the third race of the weekend from the front of the grid.

Roman Bilinski was briefly top of the order before having his quickest lap time removed. He continued to find improvements to end the session sixth, ahead of Tom Emson and Gus Burton.

Joel Pearson and Theo Edgerton completed the overall top 10.
