Alastair Rushforth Motorsport may not have made as much of a splash as fellow 2019 debutante R Racing, but the small team has big plans for the future off the back of a promising debut season.
The team joined the grid with Roman Bilinski at Thruxton, after Bilinski and engineer Alastair Rushforth parted ways with In2Racing. The squad was later joined by Zak Taylor, who had been testing with the team ahead of his debut at the second Thruxton meeting.
It was a challenging season for Bilinski. He often showed strong pace, and picked up a handful of top 10 finishes, but was also involved in a number of crashes. That included two when the Ginetta Junior field returned to Thruxton in August, which brought his weekend to an early end.

The promising performances did result in a podium finish, when he took to the third step of the podium at Snetterton. Bilinski climbed up the order from seventh on the grid, avoiding drama ahead of him to finish fourth on the road. He was promoted to the podium when Will Martin received a time penalty.
Zak Taylor was thrown in at the deep end when he made his race debut at Thruxton in the second half of the year. So as to be eligible for rookie status next year, Taylor only competed in a handful of rounds as he gained experience for a full season in the future. He claimed a best finish of 11th in the final race of the season, though crossed the line P9 before a 1.5s penalty dropped him down the order.
Taylor returned to Brands Hatch for the Winter Series, where he claimed a hat-trick of top 10 finishes.
Alastair Rushforth Motorsport plans to return to the championship for 2020. Bilinski has already made the step up to British Formula 4, but the team will not be following him. Instead, the squad is looking at a two- or three-car line-up for the upcoming season as it builds on the foundations laid in 2019.
