Tommy Pintos is aiming for a top five qualifying performance to challenge for an overall podium finish at Knockhill.
The Elite Motorsport driver has battled at the front of the field many times this season, but has so far only recorded a best finish of fourth. Pintos narrowly missed out on the podium in the final race of the weekend at Donington Park, finishing just under two seconds behind third placed Zak Taylor after a track limits penalty for Aston Millar.
So far this season, Pintos has started the weekend on the backfoot after difficult qualifying sessions. He hopes a strong qualiyfing performance at Knockhill can give him the boost to finish inside the top three.
“Located in a very rainy and cold area, Knockhill is a circuit with a very slippery layout, fun with many elevation changes and an important technical section,” he said
“We are fourth in the rookie championship and seventh in the general classification. It is the third round of the championship and we still have many options to move up in position. We have ridden and worked in the simulator, and on Tuesday we have already rolled on the track but very little due to a rain storm that prevented us from working more.
“The weekend looks like it will be rainy on Friday and clear but cold on Saturday and Sunday. We will try to be top five in qualifying to come out with a chance to fight for the podium, so an interesting and fun weekend ahead.”
