The 2021 Ginetta Junior Scholarship is open for entries ahead of a three-day competition in November.
The scholarship is designed to help young drivers take their first step on the motorsport ladder and has so far helped drivers such as BMW Motorsport Junior Dan Harper and W Series champion Jamie Chadwick.
This year’s scholar, Tom Lebbon, currently lies second in the 2020 championship, having secured his first win at Brands Hatch.
The prize includes free entry into the 2021 season, use of a Ginetta Junior car for the whole season, professional car preparation with an experienced team and consumables such as fuel and tyres.
This year’s competition is set to take place a month later than last year’s, on the 27th, 28th, and 29th of November, but will again be run at Ginetta’s own Blyton Park.
Drivers born between 01/01/2005 and 01/04/2007 with no experience racing in a Motorsport UK circuit car race are invited to take part in one of the two qualification days.
There, they will be judged on a variety of criteria. While race craft will be important, aspects such as a willingness to learn, determination, and progression throughout the day will also be taken into account.
The 20 most promising drivers will be invited back to the third day of the assessment on November 29th, with the winner announced at the end of the day.
Test days are available before the event.
