Fox Motorsport racer Liam McNeilly is set to make it onto the Silverstone grid this weekend after significant chassis damage at Thruxton.
McNeilly was one of seven drivers caught up in accidents in the second Ginetta Junior race of the weekend at Thruxton. The severe damage to his G40 chassis meant it looked as if the team wouldn’t be able to get the car repaired in time for the Silverstone round just a week later.
The team will instead convert a GT5 Challenge car previously raced by Fox Motorsport driver coach Matt Konczos to Ginetta Junior specifications ahead of the meeting.
Fox Motorsport returned to the Ginetta Junior championship at the start of the year, having last raced in the series in 2017.
McNeilly currently lies 15th in the overall standings with a best finish of eighth place at Knockhill.
