Fox Motorsport’s Liam McNeilly will return to the Ginetta Junior Championship for a second season in the series.
McNeilly is set to continue with family owned Fox Motorsport as the squad expands it’s Ginetta Junior line-up.
“I’m so excited to be coming back for a second season in 2021,” he said. “The target throughout my rookie season was to learn everything I could and keep on improving my speed, consistency and race craft.
“I definitely feel much stronger in all these areas now thanks to the team at Fox Motorsport. There’s still a huge amount to learn, but with the experience I’ve gained this year, I’m confident of being able to run much higher up the field in 2021.”
“Liam was inexperienced, even by rookie standards, this year, and I’m very pleased with the progress made,” added team-principal Paul McNeilly.
“With the consistency of a second year with the same team and the experience he’s gained in 2020, he’ll be a much stronger passage.”
Race craft was McNeilly’s specialty in his rookie season. He proved to be one of the strongest improvers over the course of a race. Across the season, he managed to gain 60 places from his grid position, better than all but one driver.
McNeilly finished 16th in the championship standings, with a best finish of two eighth place finishes at Knockhill.
The Fox Motorsport driver is the first driver to be confirmed for the 2021 season.
