Ginetta Junior Scholarship finalist Maxwell Dodds will make his car racing debut with Assetto Motorsport, the team has announced.
Assetto spent much of 2020 running rookie Joe Wheeler, who finished 17th overall and took a best finish of ninth in the penultimate round of the season.
Dodds is the first driver to be announced for Assetto’s 2021 Ginetta Junior campaign.
He makes the step up to cars after a successful national and international karting career.
“I was bowled over the moment I met Max,” said team boss Jim Edwards. “He is an incredibly polite, confident, and professional young man. His pace was clear to see immediately despite his lack of car experience and we are excited to be able to provide Max with the car and surroundings he requires to succeed in Ginetta Juniors.”
