Raceway Motorsport expands to Juniors with Zac Meakin

GRDC championship winning team Raceway Motorsport will make its Ginetta Junior debut as it expands into other Ginetta categories.

In only its first year in the GRDC series, the team helped Stephen Docker to the title.

Raceway Motorsport hopes to have similar success in the Ginetta Junior championship, where it will field rookie driver Zac Meakin.

“I have worked closely with Zac from an early age and can’t wait to see him out on track racing,” said Raceway team principal Luca Hirst. “His competitive nature and talent from karting will transfer through during the year as he gains car experience.”

The move is a long time coming for Meakin, who started testing a GInetta Junior car in late 2019. He ran with Raceway Motorsport in a number of private tests throughout 2020, despite only becoming old enough to race in the series in December last year.

“I’m very happy to be moving to cars and taking on the challenges it brings,” he said. “My goal for my debut season in Ginetta Juniors is to be a consistent top 10 finisher and a contender in the rookie championship.”
