Callum Voisin makes it two from two at Brands Hatch.
The second race of the weekend was disrupted at its mid-point with a lengthy red flag period after an accident left three drivers stranded at the side of the track.
Voisin was kept under pressure throughout the first half of the race by pole sitter Liam McNeilly, but managed to shake the Fox Motorsport driver after the restart to take a commanding victory.
McNeilly held the race lead off the line, but a wide moment at the start of lap two allowed Voisin to get on his inside at Druids. Josh Miller tried to follow Voisin past McNeilly, but McNeilly swiftly shut the door and tried to fight back and reclaim the position.
Voisin kept McNeilly at bay but couldn’t shake him. He gradually managed to edge out a small gap, but was still less than half a second ahead of McNeilly when the red flags were brought out.
Further down the order Joe Wheeler and Ian Aguilera came together while battling just outside the top 10, collecting Edward Pearson in the process.
The field lined up for a nine lap dash to the flag. McNeilly was unable to attack Voisin on the restart and instead found himself under pressure from Seb Hopkins behind.
Hopkins, who had spent the first half of the race battling with Miller and Will Jenkins, swept past McNeilly and closed in on Voisin. He stayed close to the race leader, setting the fastest lap of the race, but couldn’t find a way through and finished 0.167s behind.
After losing P2, McNeilly was shuffled down the order. Miller followed Hopkins past to take third, with Jenkins bumping the pole sitter down to P5. Aston Millar joined the fight to take fifth late on.
Robert de Haan put in an impressive performance to climb up to seventh ahead of Tom Edgar, who had been challenging at the front of the order in the first half of the race.
Josh Rowledge and Max Dodds completed the top 10.
