Aston Millar has been awarded the race three victory after Robert de Haan was handed a 10 second time penalty.
The Richardson Racing driver enjoyed a storming drive from the second row of the grid in the third race of the weekend at Knockhill to take his first victory in the championship.
It was the result of two strong starts for de Haan. During the initial start, he had jumped up to second and snatched the race lead just before the red flags fell. The second start was not quite as good for the scholarship winner, but it didn’t take long for him to challenge R Racing’s Millar at the front of the order and take the race lead.
But one of the two starts was deemed a little too good by stewards, as it was determined he had jumped the start. De Haan was handed a 10 second penalty for the infringement, which drops him back to P8 in the corrected timings.
Millar is promoted to the race victory, his first win of the season, with Hopkins and Voisin completing the podium.
