Aston Millar pips Liam McNeilly to victory in the final race of the weekend at Donington Park.
The two championship leaders swapped position almost every lap and were side by side as they took the chequered flag, but it was Millar who just had the edge on the final lap.
The pair were in a race of their own throughout the 12 lap encounter. From the opening lap, the battle for P3 allowed Millar and McNeilly to escape down the road. For the first half of the race, McNeilly held position behind Millar, allowing them to build a six second gap to the rest of the field, but even when they started battling the gap continued to grow.
Millar made slight contact with McNeilly as he tried to close the door the first time McNeilly took the race lead but in all subsequent overtakes the pair managed to avoid contact. At times there was less than an inch between them as they swapped positions but they avoided drama and came out unscathed.
Millar eventually finished 0.173s ahead of McNeilly, with the battle for third a further eight seconds back.
Josh Rowledge took third off the line, but had Callum Voisin, Joe Wheeler, and Robert de Haan close behind. A brief moment through the gravel dropped de Haan to the back of the group, but he soon recovered.
All three took turns at the front of the battle. Voisin looked to be building a small gap late on, but was reeled back into the fight. Harri Reynolds was able to join the fight and came through to take the lead of the pack, despite contact with de Haan.
Reynolds took the podium finish, ahead of Voisin, de Haan, and Rowledge.
Joe Wheeler, Will Jenkins and Max Dodds spent much of the race locked in a battle. Wheeler led the fight as they took the chequered flag, but he had received a five second time penalty and dropped back to ninth. Jenkins picked up seventh, with Dodds close behind.
Seb Hopkins completed the top 10.
