Josh Rowledge takes pole position in the first qualifying session of the 2021 Ginetta Junior Winter Series.

Rowledge spent most of the session at the sharp end of the field, swapping fastest laps with Harri Reynolds and Liam McNeilly.

The R Racing driver set the pace early on with a 1m00.605s, but lap times on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit rapidly tumbled. By the chequered flag, Rowledge had lowered the fastest lap to 57.966s.

Rowledge was the only driver to set a time sub-58s. He closest competitor Reynolds was 0.109s back.

Maurice Henry spent the closing stages of the session at the sharp end of the field and was able to keep the pace to finish third overall, ahead of Joe Warhurst and team-mate McNeilly, who was briefly on provisional pole earlier on.

Tom Edgar took sixth ahead of Aqil Alibhai, who put in a strong performance and was briefly running inside the top three early in the session.

Max Dodds likewise had a strong start to the session, placing P2 after the opening laps, and took the chequered flag eighth.

Ian Aguilera and Jacob Hodgkiss completed the top 10. Will McIntyre in P11 was the fastest rookie.
