Assetto Motorsort is set for its third season in the Ginetta Junior championship after revealing it’s four-car line-up for the 2022 season.
Motorbase Performance young driver Harri Reynolds will continue with the team for a second season. He lines up alongside three rookies making their championship debuts this year: Liona Theobald and James Wyre who made their car racing debuts in the 2021 Winter Series, and 16-year-old Ella Lloyd.
“We’re really excited by our driver line-up fort he 2022 Ginetta Juniors,” said team manager Jim Edwards. “Harri showed huge potential last year and was one of the fastest drivers on the grid in the last few rounds, so he’s ready to hit the ground running and enjoy a good start to the year.
“After strong starts in the Winter Series, we’re looking forward to seeing Liona and James progress over the course of their rookie seasons. They’ve both shown a lot of promise in testing, as has Ella as she gets ready for her racing debut.”
Reynolds made his car racing debut last season, finishing 11th in the overall championship and taking multiple rookie podiums and fighting at the front of the field in the Winter Series.
He earned a spot on the newly launched Motorbase Performance young driver programme, which aims to help talented young drivers on the path to the BTCC or GT3 endurance racing.
His new team-mates will all be making their series debuts at Donington Park next month.
Theobald and Wyre both competed in the 2021 Ginetta Junior Winter Series, Theobald with Assetto and Wyre with R Racing. Both will be aiming to improve on their winter series campaigns after strong performances in pre-season testing.
Lloyd comes into Ginetta Juniors with experience in everything from rallying to show jumping and skiing. This year will be her first season competing in cars on track.
