Will Macintyre wins a shortened second race of the weekend at Brands Hatch.
The Elite Motorsport driver was under pressure from Josh Rowledge and Harri Reynolds when a number of cars further down the order found themselves in the gravel.
The red flags were brought out with just over four minutes on the clock and the race would not be resumed.
Macintyre claimed his first win of the season ahead of Rowledge and Reynolds.
Pole sitter Joe Warhurst held the lead off the line, with Reynolds coming past Macintyre to take second. A slow moment from the race leader at Paddock Hill Bend allowed the drivers to go three abreast and Macintyre found his way back past Reynolds.
The trio would go three abreast again and Reynolds was briefly able to take the race lead before Macintyre came through at the next corner.
From that point Macintyre would not relinquish the position.
Rowledge and Reynolds came back past Warhurst, making it four in the fight for the race lead, but none were able to make a move on Macintyre.
Rowledge came closest and was just 0.165s behind when the red flag was thrown.
Alisha Palmowski was the first in the gravel, but moments later Ian Aguilera and Luke Watts had also found themselves in the gravel trap.
With the race unable to resume, Macintyre secured the victory with Rowledge and Reynolds completing the podium. Warhurst took fourth ahead of Maurice Henry.
Aqil Alibahi spent the second half of the race leading a train of drivers. Sonny Smith, who dropped backwards at the start, was on the Elite Motorsport driver’s tail and Alibahi was forced to defend. Alibahi denied Smith the opportunity to make the move.
He held onto the position to finish sixth, with Smith, Liam McNeilly and Jacob Hodgkiss close behind.
Zak Meakin was promoted into the top 10 after Aguilera and Watts’ trip through the gravel.
