Josh Rowledge takes a decisive victory in the opening Ginetta Junior race at Brands Hatch.
The R Racing driver was under pressure from Luke Watts and Sonny Smith for most of the race, but was able to pull away after a late Safety Car.
While Watts and Smith battled for the runner up position, Rowledge extended a small lead at the front of the field and took the victory by 1.198s.
Watts got a good start from pole but quickly came under pressure from Joe Warhurst. Warhurst swept through to take the lead at Druids and led for a short time only for an incident to drop him back down the order.
Rowledge claimed the race lead at this point ahead of Watts and Smith.
The top three had broken away from the rest of the field when an incident left Liona Theobald in the gravel.
Neither Watts nor Smith could stick with Rowledge on the restart. The pair managed to get side by side before making contact and forcing one another wide over the grass. They plummetted down the order, promoting Kanto Le into second and the battling Maurice Henry and Ian Aguilera into P3 and P4. Moments later, Henry and Aguilera came together, sending Aguilera to the back of the field and dropping Henry out of the podium positions.
Le avoided the drama to take his first podium finish in second, ahead of Will Macintyre, who was climbing back up through the order after an early wide moment.
Warhurst also enjoyed a strong recovery drive to finish fourth ahead of Harri Reynolds and Henry.
Mackenzie Douglass and Zak Meakin were seperated by just 0.2s as they took the chequered flag seventh and eighth.
Liam McNeilly managed to climb up after a disappointing qualifying session to finish ninth, while Aqil Alibahi completed the top 10.
