Luke Watts and Jamie Warhurst share pole positions after a quick and sharp qualifying session at Brands Hatch.
With the new qualifying format limiting driver to three flying laps, most of the field had completed their qualifying run before the halfway point of the session.
Watts set the fastest lap early on with a 56.805s lap around the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, ahead of Warhurst and William Macintyre.
Sonny Smith shot up the order with his second flying lap, putting himself P2 and just 0.019s off Watts’ time. Warhurst also found improvements to keep himself third quickest, a further 0.029s back.
The Elite Motorsport driver’s second quickest lap was enough to put him on pole for the second race of the weekend, ahead of Macintyre, who dropped down to fourth on the overall times.
Championship leader Harri Reynolds struggled in the overall times, placing ninth overall. However, his second fastest time was enough to put him third on the grid for race two.
Josh Rowledge, who lies second in the championship standings, qualified fifth, ahead of Kanto Le, Aqil Alibhai and Ian Aguilera.
Maurice Henry completed the top 10.
