Finn Harrison tops the order in qualifying for the first day of the 2022 Ginetta Junior Winter Series.

The 15 minute session was halted with just over five minutes on the clock after an incident at Clearways. Another incident a few minutes after the track went green again brought out the chequered flag early.

Alisha Palmowski topped the times early on, but lap times continuously tumbled throughout the session.

Luke Watts, Freddie Slater Harrison, and Reza Seewooruthun all took turns at the top of the order.

Seewooruthun was the first driver to set a time under 1 minute, but it wouldn’t be long before he was joined by six other drivers.

It was Watts at the top of the order when the first red flag was brought out by newly crowned Ginetta Junior scholar Chase Fernandez. He was running P14 when he went off at Clearways and beached himself in the gravel.

The session resumed with five minutes left on the clock.

Harrison managed to go quicker in the closing stages of the session, jumping up to P1 with a time of 59.130s. Palmowski took second ahead of Watts and Seewooruthun.

The session was halted again when Mikey Porter became the third car to get stuck in the gravel at Clearways – McKenzie Douglass had done so early in the session but managed to get out of the gravel without a stoppage.

The incident brought an early end to the session.

Porter would finish the session seventh, the last driver to set a time sub-1m. He lines up behind Slater and Luca Hopkinson.

Sid Smith, Thomas Spragg and Dan Munrow completed the top 10.
