Freddie Slater wins the 2022 Ginetta Junior Winter Series title with a victory in the final race of the weekend.
It was another lights-to-flag victory for Slater, and another race interrupted by an early red flag.
This time it was a clash between Luke Watts and Finn Harrison at Druids on lap one that brought out the red flags. Both went off towards the barriers, but Watts bounced back onto the track. The rest of the field managed to avoid the incident.
On the restart, second placed McKenzie Douglass was able to stick with Slater. Douglass briefly managed to get into the race lead, only for Slater to come back past at Druids and reclaim the race lead.
Once back in P2, Douglass came under pressure from Luca Hopkinson and slipped back behind the R Racing driver.
Reza Seewooruthun swept past into P3 and soon found himself at the head of a six car train in the battle for the final podium position. Alisha Palmowski was part of the train and pushed hard for position, but was shuffled backwards as the group fought.
The group managed to catch Hopkinson in the closing stages of the race. A wide moment for the R Racing driver sent him over the grass and back down to P7.
Meanwhile, Slater once again dominated the race and finished more than four seconds clear to take the win and clinch the championship title.
McKenzie Douglass managed to come through to take second ahead of Seewooruthun and Palmowski.
Mikey Porter and Sid Smith took fifth and sixth ahead of Hopkinson.
Dan Munrow, Chase Fernandez and Charlie Hart completed the top 10.
