Douglas Motorsport adds rookie Bailey Voisin and championship returnee Lorcan Hanafin to its Ginetta Junior line-up for the 2019 championship.
The pair join Gus Barton at Douglas for the up-coming season as the team aims to get back to winning ways.
Hanafin prepares for his first full season in the Ginetta Junior championship after running a partial campaign with the team last season, while Vosin will make his car racing debut at Brands Hatch in April.
Both drivers are aiming high and hope to be challenging for the overall and rookie titles.
“I am really excited to continue working with Douglas Motorsport for the 2019 season,” said Hanafin.
“After finding my feet for the latter part of the 2018 season, I feel like I am now more prepared for a full campaign.
“We have completed a positive winter testing programme so far and I will head into the new season in a stronger position to fight for outright wins and hopefully get myself in contention for the Michelin Ginetta Junior championship title.”
Hanafin competed in 15 races last season, taking top 10 results in five. His best result came at Rockingham, the last round he competed in, where he finished fourth overall, behind title rivals Adam Smalley and Louis Foster and Patrick Kibble.
New team-mate Vosin spent last year competing in the Super One Karting Championship, finishing 25th in the Junior Rotax championship.
The 16-year-old aims to challenge for the rookie title as he makes his car racing debut.
“I am thrilled to have joined Douglas Motorsport and really look forward to improving my driving skills with such a professional and supportive team,” he said.
“Having now met some of the other drivers and the wider Douglas team, I feel very welcome.
“My immediate goal in the 2019 Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship is to do well in the Rookie Cup this season and hopefully I can look forward to a successful year as a Douglas junior.”
Both drivers have already begun testing for the upcoming season. Team boss Wayne Douglas described the tests as impressive and is confident his team – who ran rookie champion Kiern Jewiss in 2017 – will be challenging at the front of the field again.
“It is great to have Lorcan and MIS Motorsport [Hanafin’s sponsor] back with us for another season,” he said. “After a very strong Winter Series and some very promising testing, we are confident Lorcan will be a front runner from the opening race at Brands Hatch in April.
“Douglas Motorsport have started an intensive test programme with Bailey and his progression has been impressive.
“In his rookie season, the team and Bailey’s aim together is rookie podiums and wins, which should see Bailey running at the front as the season progresses.”
