Roman Bilinski dominated a wet qualifying to take a double pole for the second round of the Ginetta Junior championship at Donington Park.
Bilinski topped the time early in the session and, despite having a lap time improved for exceeding track limits, continued to improve throughout the session and ended the morning more than a second quicker than Zak O’Sullivan, who finished second.
After the session, Bilinski said: “I didn’t expect to be that fast. The car felt perfect.
“I think there were a few more tenths in me.”
Brands Hatch race one winner James Taylor was third quickest, while race two winner Tom Emson could only manage P13.
Lorcan Hanafin and early championship leader James Hedley took fourth and fifth, ahead of Theo Edgerton and Harry Dyson.
Daniel Gale, Will Martin, and Gus Burton rounded out the top 10.
The opening race of the weekend is due to start at 16.35 this afternoon.
