In2Racing driver Charlie Mcleod will miss the Croft round of the 2019 Ginetta Junior championship due to lack of budget.
Mcleod switched to In2Racing ahead of the Thruxton meeting, where he finished 21st and 17th in the two races, despite suffering a heavy crash at the start of qualifying.
“Unfortunately, largely due to lack of budget and no sponsorship, Charlie won’t be competing in the croft round of the Ginetta Junior Championship, supporting BTCC and televised on ITV4,” his father Ian said.
“It’s a Catch 22 situation. No budget means no experience. No experience or seat time means no results, which means no sponsorship, which means back to the drawing board…”
Mcleod’s withdrawal means In2Racing is set to run only two drivers – Freddie Tomlinson and Josh Rattican – at Croft this weekend, as Ben Kasperczak opted to leave the team after Thruxton.
In2Racing has been advertising race seats in the Ginetta Junior and Porsche Carrera Cup GB championships.
Mcleod hopes to be back on the grid again in the near future. He has sponsorship packages available and any interested companies can get in touch at ianmcleod8@icloud.com
