Winter Series returns for 2021

The Ginetta Junior Winter Series will return after a year’s absence.

The two-day series, which began in 2008, was cancelled in 2020 after the main championship calendar was pushed back due to coronavirus concerns.

With the 2021 season finale returning to the more traditional date of late October, the decision has been made to bring back the Winter Series.

As in previous years, the weekend long even will take place at Brands Hatch. It is currently scheduled for 13th and 14th of November, a week after the Ginetta Junior Scholarship event will take place at Blyton Park.

The series will consist of two qualifying sessions and four races over the two days, with the overall champion being awarded 50% off their entry fee to either the 2022 Ginetta Junior Championship or GT5 Challenge.

Prizes will also be awarded for second and third place, as well as top rookie and the driver who gains the most positions over the four races.

The event has proven to be strong preparation for the upcoming season, with four Winter Series champions going on to take the main title the following year and many others running at the front of the field.
