Aston Millar takes a double pole position for the 2021 Ginetta Junior season finale at Brands Hatch.
Qualifying for the final round of the season was cut short, as two red flags disrupted running and the chequered flag was shown after just 10 minutes of green flag running.
Millar topped the order early on and between the stoppages managed to lower the benchmark to 1m47.538s.
Title rival and the only person who can stop Millar from winning the championship, Liam McNeilly, could only manage third overall, but his second fastest lap time was enough to put him second on the grid for race two.
The session was red flagged five minutes into qualifying as two cars ran off in different incidents. Zak Meakin had become stranded at Paddock Hill Bend while Adam Brown was stuck at Surtees.
The session was resumed with just under 10 minutes on the clock, and most of the field were able to get in another flying lap before the session was red flagged again with five minutes remaining.
In that time, Robert de Haan briefly claimed provisional pole position only to be knocked down to P2 by Millar moments later.
He ended the second overall, 0.134s off the pace set by Millar and a tenth of a second ahead of McNeilly.
Will Jenkins managed fourth quickest overall – and is third on the grid for the second race of the weekend – ahead of Jamie Osbourne and Callum Voisin.
Josh Rowledge took seventh, ahead of Harri Reynolds, Josh Miller and Edward Pearson.
With much of the grid unable to get in two competitive lap times between stoppages, the grid for the second race of the weekend is somewhat muddled.
After Jenkins, James Higgins will start fourth on the grid ahead of Meakin, Fergus Chalmers, and Joe Wheeler. Sonny Smith, who only made his debut at Donington Park, was placed eighth.
